Find me on:

It's the season of giving and you probably have a few millennials in your life. Picking out the perfect gift is hard especially when stores throw all these options at you. I've read all the lists about gifts for millennials and, honestly, none of the gifts are really that good. Like how many coasters do we need? Do people even use coasters anymore?

Okay, I digress. Here are some gifts for the millennial in your life.

1. 23andMe

My grandpa did this and he really liked it so I think young people will like it, too. Spit into a tube, send it to the lab and find out your ancestry, health and traits. Right now you can get $50 off the Health and Ancestry Service.

2. Pay for 3 months of Movie Pass

3 month subscription to movie pass moviepass.com

Okay so this is really cool. We can assume that the movie industry is probably taking a hit because of Hulu and Netflix, but this might be the fix. Pay $9.95 a month to watch as many movies as you want!

3. The Power of Habit

The book The Power of Habitamazon.com

Chances are the millennial in your life has bad habits they need to break and good ones they need to form. I actually have this book and it is insanely interesting. This will help them with the New Year's resolutions they never stick to.

4. A good knife set

Everyone needs a good knife set. Even if you don't cook all that often, I'm sure you cut something every once and a while. Regardless, this Vremi knife set is affordable and has great reviews on Amazon!

5. Travel cocktail kit

Honestly, you can (and should) buy this gift for anyone that takes a lot of trips and can legally drink. There are a variety of cocktails you can choose from and they are relatively cheap!

6. Subscription to Texture

If you know someone that LOVES magazines, this is the perfect gift. They can have all the magazines in a digital copy at their fingertips and they can access the app on 5 different devices!

7. Away suitcase

If you're trying to drop some serious dough, consider making an investment. The Away suitcase is durable and pretty! With a built in phone charger and a TSA approved lock, who really needs anything else?

8. Plants that are hard to kill

AKA succulents. They're really trendy right now, look good in Instagram photos and don't require a lot of maintenance. If you know someone that needs to spice up their apartment, think about purchasing a cactus!

9. Google Home Mini

Currently on sale for $29.00, this is well worth a purchase. Speaking from experience (as both a Google Home Mini owner and millennial), this is an awesome device. Connect to Chromecast, Nest and Spotify with ease!

10. Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Maker

If you like coffee, you probably spend a lot of money buying it at coffee shops. Invest in their coffee habit and their future by gifting them with this cold brew maker. Great reviews on Amazon and totally affordable.

11. Make an investment for them

Buy stocks, bonds or just dump some money into their savings. It's hard out here for a millennial. Forget buying a home, we're just trying to survive.

12. Task Rabbit gift card for a deep clean

How many times does anyone really deep clean anything? Gift the millennial in your life with a clean apartment. It will save them time, money, and energy! And it's just a thoughtful gift.

13. Dinner

Yes, the simple, yet thoughtful solution. Ditch the materialistic things and treat them to a dinner on you. Catch up, enjoy a meal and spend quaity time together. We often forget about the small things.

Hopefully this narrowed down your list a little! If not, there are literally 100 other gift lists on the internet.
