While I’m sure your December is quickly filling up with parties and other activities, you can’t forget about the gifts. I’m finding in particular that its hard to buy for my parents as they get older. What do you give the people who literally gave you life? I’ve put together 3 holiday gift ideas for parents that have helped me throughout the years and I hope they’ll help you.
“What I Love About” Book: These books are great as you can list off different answers to all the things you love about your parents. It’s a great way to give a thoughtful gift that is sure to make your mom (and dad) cry.
A Class of Some Sort: Are your parents trying to learn something new? Do they have something they always talk about learning but haven’t done it yet? Get them a class to try out their ideas or do something they love. Classes can range from everything from cooking lessons, to music lessons and even potentially tennis lessons. Give them the gift of trying something new this year.
Monthly Subscription Box: Do your parents love wine? Chocolate? Bacon? There is basically a monthly subscription box for everything now a days. Allow them to branch out this year and try more varieties of what they love (and discover new things) with a monthly subscription box to one of their favorite things.
Bonus: Time with you (and your siblings if you have them). Plan a family activity day. It doesn't need to be fancy, you can spend the day at home in your pajamas playing board games. This an excellent gift, especially if your family doesn’t all live in the same area. It’s a great way to refocus on what the holidays are all about, spending time together.
