As the weather warms up in NYC, it clicks that summer is around the corner. With summer comes kickoff parties, intern events, and rooftop takeovers. When you're looking over your summer event packages and ideas, keep in mind a few of these tips for hosting summer events.

1. Market your outdoor spaces!
A must! If you have even the smallest of outdoor spaces, make sure your clients know about it. Everyone is looking for a chance to get outside and catch rays while they sip on cocktails.

2. Offer lighter fare.
Fresh, light ingredients are the key to summer events and menus. It's hot out--people don't want to feel heavy and tired after they eat. Give them something that'll pair well with all the margaritas they'll be drinking!

3. Create a specialty punch.
Everyone loves punch. It's cold, fruity and always tasty! Find a way to incorporate this into your summer menu to give the people what they want. Plus, you can make it in batches which saves lots of time.

4. Add activity-based events if you can.
People enjoy learning and acquiring new skills. If you can, find a way to incorporate that into your venue's summer schedule. Offer a summer cocktail making class or a wine pairing night to get guests involved!
