Live Music in NYC
Summer's coming up, which means tons of rooftop parties, frozen margaritas, and SPF 75. Well, I have an alternative: live music in NYC! Here in NYC, we have so many venues that have incredible live music venues, so here I've put together a list of cool shows for you! These venues are all on our Venuebook, and if you have fun at the show, you can book your own event at any of these venues!
Webster Hall is a club and music venue that was built in 1886 (!!!) and was one of the largest independently owned venues in NYC until it was recently acquired by Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment and Bowery Presents. Webster Hall is a New York City Landmark! Here are some cool upcoming shows:
Wed. 5/24 (this blog writer's birthday): The Pixies!!! Unfortunately, it's sold out.
Fri 6/9: Buzzcocks and So So Glos
Thurs 6/15: Lizzo
Terminal 5 is not only enormous, but also has their bookings handled by Bowery Presents, NYC's go-to for shows with great lineups. I've seen some of my favorite artists at Terminal 5, including Sleater-Kinney and James Blake. Here's what's happening over there in the coming months:
Mon 5/22: Coheed & Cambria (for you former emo kids)
Tues. 6/6: Portugal. The Man
Fri. 9/15: The Cranberries!!!!
Also known as Hammerstein Ballroom, this venue is also over 100 years old. Hammerstein ballroom has a gorgeous hand painted ceiling and two balconies with private opera boxes. It's one of the most beautiful venues in New York. I saw My Bloody Valentine there in 2013 and couldn't hear anything for 3 days. Here are some upcoming shows:
Sat. 6/10: City and Colour
Tues. 7/11: 311 with special guests New Politics & The Skints
Fri 7/14: Against All Odds Tour with Meek Mill & Yo Gotti
Go check out these cool shows! And if you enjoy the show and really love the venue, book your next event there through Venuebook!
