Fall

It's been a while since our last blog post but with summer winding down and autumn now here, so is the continued season of fine wine and freshly brewed beer! Here in New York we don't seem to mind the crisp fall air as September and October are perfect city months for wine trails, tastings and more – indoors or out!

As we ramp up into holiday season, the VenueBook team will continue to help you with your event planning needs but for starters, here are 5 great New York fun finds to check out this fall (in no particular order):

Brooklyn Winery
Brooklyn Winery makes for a chic, sophisticated wedding venue but also great for Monday or Tuesday evening tours and a tasting of Brooklyn Winery wines. Also stop by their wine bar open Monday-Thursday.

City Wine Tours
During each two-hour tour you’ll visit three restaurants or wine shops, sample six wines, try several food pairings and walk a short distance from one place to the next!

Make Your Own Wine!
At City Winery you'll have a chance to wander from the winery into their Barrel Room tasting bar and restaurant, where you can try house wines served fresh on tap, straight from the cellar. Better yet, be involved in the winemaking process! Create your own private barrel, or bottle a few cases of their wine with your own custom designed label.

Oktoberfest at Bear Mountain State Park
In addition to hiking trails and fall foliage, Bear Mountain State Park offers German food and beer, live bands, craft vendors and more. A more scenic way to get there is a 2.5 hour Circle Line boat ride up the Hudson River! Oktoberfest takes place the weekends of September 13th - October 26th, plus Columbus Day (12pm - 6pm).

The New York Beer & Brewery Tour
Get the full history on New York’s love affair with beer while touring and sampling from these stops along the way: Birreria (Flatiron District, Manhattan), Brooklyn Brewery (Williamsburg, Brooklyn), Spuyten Duyvil (Williamsburg, Brooklyn), Bohemian Hall (Astoria, Queens).
