Find me on:

I didn’t start enjoying soup until I moved to New York City and I realized it’s only one of a few things (aside from turning the heat on) that helps to keep me warm. Now that the weather is consistently “winter-y”, it’s time for soup...and lots of it. Here are some VenueBook venues serving great soup dishes.

A hot soup served in a white, ramekin-styled dish

NYC: Osteria Morini - Tortellini en Brodo

Meat-filled tortellini meets chicken broth. Why have pasta OR soup when you can have pasta IN soup. These fluffy, pillows of meat are taken to pasta heaven with the addition of the rich chicken broth.

SF: The Pub at Ghirardelli Square - Homemade Chili

Chili isn’t technically a soup, but you eat it in a bowl and that’s a soup requirement. Beef and pork are buried in this chunky bowl of bliss. The Pub is known for its BBQ, so you know for a fact the meat in the chili is delicious. Combine that with red beans, some veggies and cornbread and you’ve got yourself a Grade A chili.

DC: Logan Tavern - Butternut Squash and Ginger

This just wouldn’t be a Gabs food post if I didn’t include something for all the vegetarians out there. Gotta look out for my friends. The butternut squash and ginger soup is all you’ll need this winter. The squash will keep you full and warm while the ginger works it’s spicy, sweet magic

CH: Hubbard Inn - Lobster Bisque

Would this really be a good soup blog post if I didn’t post about a seafood soup? Of course not! That’s why I’m featuring Hubbard Inn’s lobster bisque: a creamy soup with chunks of everyone’s favorite crustacean. It’s served tableside so invite a date and watch their face as this beautiful taste of comfort is poured into their bowl.

If you have friends or coworkers that enjoy soup as much as you do, then you need to make this a party. Start planning your soup-er cool event today!
